Before Usain Bolt became the fastest man in the World, sweeping 100, 200m and relay events at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics
Usain Bolt was so energetic as a kid, his mom took him to the doctor, worried he was Hyperactive. His natural speed won him medals and world records early on, making the 6ft 5 runner a national celebrity at just 15. But his coaches worried that the pressure would be too much for Bolt. After moving to the capitol for training, he indulged in partying and eating junk food so much, his coaches pulled him from the Senior World Championships. Fearing the worries had come true, Usain had to smarten up, and do it quick if he wanted to prove them wrong.
That guy certainly loves his Chicken Nuggets, that or he’s a marketing genius. My name is Michael McCrudden documenting the life of Usain Bolt prior to fame, here for you on Before They Were Famous. We’ve covered a lot of other pro athletes, but not so many Olympians. Who would you like to hear about next? Let me know in the comments below.
